Warm and Cozy Mulled Apple Cider

cider 1.jpg

I was lucky enough to be raised on home-made everything - from clothes to cookies - because my parents were 'granolas' before it was cool to be a granola. In hindsight that is probably why I ended up becoming a Naturopathic Doctor in the first place. Even though I don't wear home-made clothes anymore, what my childhood left me with was a love an appreciation for home-made things. My partner teases me about spending 1h and $15 on something that I could easily buy for $5 in 30 seconds - but he doesn't get that price is not what it is always about. There is just something about crafting a recipe exactly the way you want, watching it cook and wondering what it will turn out like, sharing it with friends and family and knowing exactly what went into it.

I have to admit my recipies are not always a hit when I try and modify them and add 'natural' ingredients, but this one got a standing ovation from the peanut gallery. Just the right amount of spice wiht a punch of fall flavour, this mulled apple cider will be making the round a few times this fall in my home. I hope you enjoy it as much we did!
